We are a boutique Data & AI consultancy of 10–15 senior engineers. We don’t negotiate quality, our execution pace is fast, our workflows are lean, and we treat our timelines and client commitments with respect.
We want to give our clients better visibility and trade-off management. Right now, client reporting takes up too much bandwidth, and when priorities shift, communicating the downstream impact on delivery dates isn't as seamless as it needs to be.
We are looking for a Project Manager to own project execution, streamline client updates and keep our delivery promises rock-solid.
The Mission
You will sit at the intersection of our engineering team and client stakeholders. Your goal is to keep projects moving smoothly, make project status crystal clear, and ensure trade-offs are negotiated before deadlines are missed. This is the first dedicated PM role we’re hiring: you will impact the organization now and during its growth process.
This is a Delivery and Project Management role, not a Product Manager role. You won’t be writing user stories or defining product vision; you will be managing timelines, commitments, trade-offs, and client communication.
What You’ll Do
- Stay plugged into execution: join our daily standups (15–25 mins) and weekly planning sessions (1 hour) to keep a live pulse on project velocity and surface blockers early.
- Master the trade-off conversation: proactively manage client expectations. When priorities shift, you can clearly explain the domino effect (e.g., "If we prioritize X this sprint, Y will be delayed by two weeks").
- Fix the reporting overhead: turn our day-to-day progress in Linear into clear, concise status updates for clients without wasting hours on manual decks.
- Bridge client needs & technical reality: bring enough technical intuition to challenge estimates, negotiate scope, and keep the planning board accurate alongside our engineering leads.
- Support multiple clients: standardize project management practices so that teams deployed for each client can follow the same patterns and provide clients with the same level of insight.
What We’re Looking For
Must have
- Software/Data intuition: you have enough technical exposure to know if a task sounds like a 2-day job or a 2-week lift.
- Trade-off negotiation skills: you know how to say "yes, if..." and manage shifting client priorities without burning out the engineering team.
- Proactive communication: you are comfortable presenting bad news early, setting realistic expectations, and holding both clients and internal teams accountable.
- Ownership mindset: you can join a team, assess the current delivery workflow, and roll out pragmatic improvements that stick.
Nice to have
- Experience working with Linear
- Consultancy or agency background: experience managing multiple external client stakeholders simultaneously.
